It was the most spectacular of finales at the Star World Championship 2025 held 6-13 September in Split (Croatia). After six intense races, YCM member Paul Cayard sailing with German Frithjof Kleen claimed the world title in a contest that went down to the wire in the last race.

The 17th Monaco Classic Week-La Belle Classe again confirmed Yacht Club de Monaco’s pivotal role as the cradle of classic yachting. For the first time ever, The Ocean Race Europe stopped over in France with Leg 3 finishing in Nice. After 680 nautical miles from Cartagena and the Côte d’Azur city, the IMOCA Malizia–Seaexplorer of Boris Herrmann (Yacht Club de Monaco) crossed the line at 09:43 on Friday 29 August after 2 days 18 hours, 42 minutes and 53 seconds of racing. The crew clinched 5th place out of seven contestants and is now lying 4th in the provisional ranking.

Championnat de France Espoirs ILCA – Martigues

Three years after hosting the last Championnats de France Jeunes, the Étang de Berre welcomed the Championnat de France Espoirs fleets. For this one, 495 selected sailors descended on Martigues for a championship that saw a strong Mistral, hot sun and unpredictable thermals. For the first few days it was a reminder of why this venue is one of the most demanding, both for those racing and the organisers.
